A contract was recently made between Vistor hf., and Röntgen Domus (Radiology Centre) concerning the purchase of Philips Achieva 1.5 T Nova Dual magnetic resonance imaging equipment from Philips Medical Systems. Vistor represents Philips in this country.

This is one of the most advanced systems available today and incorporates, among other things, the potential for cardio- and neurological investigations.

Philips Medical Systems and Röntgen Domus, have also entered into an Agreement covering collaboration in respect of research into magnetic resonance imaging technology.

With this purchase, Röntgen Domusis replacing its present equipment which it has had for ten years, and which has worked well, but now the time has come to renew it. Preparations are now taking place to install the new equipment and train personnel on how to use it. The goal is to launch the new equipment on 1 November next. This equipment is more efficient and more automatic than the old one, but it will, nevertheless, be dependent on Röntgen Domus’s professional personnel.
